Eleven of the app's thirteen calculators also exist as a free browser tool on this site. Run the numbers here first if you like — the formulas are identical — then install the app for the same calculations offline, with saved history.

A worked example

What the app actually returns

This is the calculation shown in the store screenshots, reproduced exactly. Currency is deliberately unmarked — the app does not impose one.

A five‑year loan at 8.5%

FigureResult
Loan amount10,000.00
Interest rate8.50% p.a.
Loan period60 months
Monthly payment (EMI)205.17
Annual payment2,461.98
Total interest2,309.92
Total payment12,309.92
Maturity end date22 Oct 2030

A 100,000 card balance at 20%

FigureResult
Card balance100,000.00
Interest rate20.00%
Minimum to cover interest1,666.67
Payment per month2,000.00
Months to payoff37 months
Total interest37,123.61
Total payments137,123.61
Payoff date22 Nov 2028

Why the second table is the useful one. Paying 2,000 a month against a 100,000 balance at 20% clears it in 37 months and costs 37,123.61 in interest — but the app also shows that 1,666.67 of that payment is only covering the interest. Every calculator in the app reports the cost, not just the instalment, which is the number a lender's own quote usually leaves out.

International

Built for borrowers everywhere

Loan maths is the same in every country, and so is this app. Nothing is locked to a single currency, lender or tax regime — you type the amount, and the app calculates.

One calculation, four names

What India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Gulf call the EMI, the United States and Canada call the monthly payment, and the United Kingdom and Australia call the repayment or instalment. Same formula, same answer — the app returns all of it under one figure.

Mortgage costs, not just the rate

The mortgage tool takes property tax, home insurance, PMI, HOA fee and other annual costs, then prints a payment table with a monthly and a total column for each one — so the figure you compare is the figure you will pay.

Car buying with the real inputs

Auto price, cash incentives, down payment, trade‑in value, amount still owed on the trade‑in, sales tax and registration fees. A dealer's headline monthly number rarely survives contact with this screen.

Currency‑neutral by design

No currency is hard‑wired. The same thirteen tools work in USD, EUR, GBP, INR, BDT, PKR, NGN, AED, PHP, BRL, IDR, CAD, AUD or anything else.

How it differs

Thirteen loan calculators, no advertising

Most of what Google Play returns for a loan query is either a single‑purpose calculator — one formula, one icon, one more install — or a large free app that pays for itself with full‑screen ads between you and the result. This app is the whole borrowing set, it keeps a record of what you worked out, and it carries no advertising at all.

What it is not. This is a calculator, not a lender, a loan marketplace or an advice service. It does not connect to your bank, check your credit, find you an offer or recommend one. Results are estimates produced by standard formulas from the figures you enter; the rate, fees and schedule a lender finally quotes may differ.

The Auto Loan Calculator showing auto loan details with an auto price, an annual interest rate of 10.5 percent, a five year term, optional cash incentives and down payment, an optional trade-in section for trade-in value and amount owed on trade-in, and an optional taxes and fees section for sales tax and title, registration and other fees, beside a second phone showing a summary result listing total loan amount, sales tax amount, upfront payment, total interest, total fee, monthly payment, total payment, total auto cost and maturity end date

Features

What the app does

Nothing to configure and nothing to sign up for. The app opens on the grid of calculators.

Thirteen calculators, one app

Loan and EMI, mortgage and home loan, auto and car loan, personal, business, education and student loans, general and mortgage APR, credit card payoff and minimum payment, ROI, Rule of 72 and percentage.

Full amortization schedules

Annual or monthly tabs, with each instalment split into principal and interest, and a chart showing how the two shift over the term.

The total cost, not just the instalment

Every result reports total interest, annual payment, total payment and the maturity date alongside the monthly figure — the numbers a lender's quote usually leaves out.

Real mortgage inputs

Down payment as a percentage or an amount, property tax, home insurance, PMI, HOA fee and other annual costs, each shown monthly and in total in its own payment table.

Real car-buying inputs

Cash incentives, down payment, trade‑in value, amount still owed on the trade‑in, sales tax and registration fees — all optional, all reflected in the total auto cost.

Compounding you control

Set compounding and payback frequency on the business loan tool rather than accepting one hard‑coded assumption.

Search by name

Type "loan", "card" or "mortgage" and the grid narrows to the matching tools, so you are never hunting through icons.

Saved history

Every calculation is stored with its own reference number, date, inputs and results. Reopen it, share it or delete it.

Share as text

Send a result to anyone as readable formatted text — loan amount, rate, term, EMI and maturity date — through the standard Android share sheet.

Glossary of loan terms

APR, principal, tenure and amortization explained in the app, so you can check what a figure means without leaving it.

Works offline

Everything is computed on the device. It works on a plane, in a bank queue, in a car showroom or anywhere with no signal.

Light and dark

A theme switch in Settings, applied across every screen including the schedules and charts.

No ads, no account, nothing collected

No advertising, no sign‑up, no login, no email. No personal data collected and no data shared with third parties, as declared in the Play Data safety section.

Audience

Who uses this app

  • Home buyers comparing mortgage offers, testing a bigger down payment, and checking what tax, insurance and PMI add to the monthly figure.
  • Car buyers checking whether a dealer's monthly number is fair once the trade‑in, incentives, tax and fees are in.
  • Students and parents planning education loan repayment and seeing the long‑term cost before signing.
  • Small business owners costing working capital or an equipment loan, with origination and documentation fees counted.
  • Anyone paying down a credit card who wants a real payoff date and the true interest cost of the minimum payment.
  • Borrowers comparing two offers who need APR rather than a headline rate to tell which one is actually cheaper.
  • Bankers, brokers and finance students who need a fast, accurate second calculation on the phone, with a record of it afterwards.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this loan calculator free?

Yes — every calculator, with no ads, no subscription and no paid unlock.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Calculations run on your device, so the app works fully offline.

What is EMI?

EMI (equated monthly instalment) is the fixed amount you pay each month until a loan is repaid — interest plus principal.

What is an amortization schedule?

A table showing, for each payment, interest paid, principal repaid and the balance remaining.

Can I use it for a mortgage outside my country?

Yes. Enter amount, rate and term in your own currency — the formula is international.

Does the app collect my financial data?

No. Nothing you enter leaves your phone. No account, no sign-up, no tracking.

Can I compare two loan offers?

Yes — run both and compare EMI, total interest and total repayment.

What is Loan Calculator?

Loan Calculator is a free, offline loan and EMI calculator app for Android with 13 borrowing calculators — loan and EMI, mortgage, auto, personal, business and student loan, general and mortgage APR, credit card payoff and minimum payment, ROI, Rule of 72 and percentage. It returns the monthly instalment, total interest, total repayment and a full amortization schedule, and every result can be saved, reopened and shared.

What is the difference between the interest rate and APR?

The interest rate is the cost of borrowing the money. The APR is the annualised, all‑inclusive cost once fees are added, which is why two loans quoting the same rate can have different APRs. The app has a general APR calculator and a mortgage APR calculator for exactly this comparison.

Does it show how much of my payment is interest?

Yes. The amortization schedule splits every instalment into interest and principal, month by month or year by year, and a breakdown chart shows the same split for the loan as a whole.

Can it calculate a mortgage with property tax, insurance and PMI?

Yes. The mortgage calculator takes property tax, home insurance, PMI insurance, HOA fee and other annual costs, and prints a payment table with a monthly and a total column for each, so the comparable figure includes everything, not just principal and interest.

Does the car loan calculator handle a trade-in?

Yes. The auto loan calculator takes the trade‑in value and the amount still owed on it, along with cash incentives, the down payment, sales tax and title and registration fees, and returns the total auto cost rather than only the instalment.

How long will it take to pay off my credit card?

Enter the balance, the interest rate and either what you can pay each month or the number of months you want to take. The app returns the months to payoff, the total interest, the total payments and the payoff date, and it shows the minimum payment that would only cover the interest.

Can I save and share a calculation?

Yes. Each result is stored with its own reference number, date, input parameters and results, and can be reopened or deleted later. The share button sends it as readable formatted text through the Android share sheet — message, email, WhatsApp or anything else.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no sign-up, no login and no email address to give. The app opens straight to the grid of calculators.

Does it work on tablets?

Yes. The app runs on Android phones and tablets.

How is this different from the calculators on this website?

The formulas are the same. The website versions run in any browser with nothing to install; the app adds offline use, a saved history of every calculation, one-tap sharing and light and dark themes. Many people use both — the browser at a desk, the app in a bank or a showroom.

Is this financial advice?

No. Loan Calculator is for education and financial planning only. Actual rates, fees and offers vary by bank and country — confirm with your lender, and consult a qualified adviser before borrowing.

About OnlineWebToolkit

OnlineWebToolkit publishes free browser-based tools and calculators — financial, health, conversion, text and SEO utilities that run in the browser with nothing to install and no account to create. The financial calculators section is the web counterpart of this app: the same loan, mortgage, auto, APR and credit card calculations, the same formulas, on any device with a browser. The Android app exists for the times you need them without a connection, and for keeping a record of what you worked out.

If you want the tax, salary, deposit and investment calculators as well, they are in the companion app, Financial Calculator: EMI, FD.

Important. Loan Calculator is a calculation tool for education and personal planning. It is not a bank, a lender, a broker or a financial adviser, it does not connect to any account or check your credit, and nothing it produces is a recommendation or an offer. All results are estimates based on the figures you enter and standard published formulas; the rate, fees, schedule and total cost a lender finally quotes may differ.
