How this calculator works

Year-by-year columns

  • Current salary — Salary at the start of that year (before the raise).
  • Increase amount — Current salary × (annual increase ÷ 100).
  • New salary — Salary after applying the raise for that year.
  • Total increase — Running sum of all raise amounts from year 1 through that year.

Compound raises

Each year’s percentage is applied to the new salary from the prior year, which matches typical “annual merit increase” projections.
